What is Somatic Breathwork?

The Somatic Breathwork method combines conscious breathing techniques with somatic awareness and exploration.  AKA it gets you out of your head and into your body so you can connect to what the heck your body is trying to tell you!  

We use the power of the breath as the healer to shift stuck emotions that create pressure, overwhelm and tension in the body and build up over time. If we don’t allow this energy to express, it suppresses, stays in the body and can lead to unwanted feelings like anxiety and stress. By engaging in specific breathing patterns, we can activate the body’s natural healing codes and clear this energetic weight.

E V E R Y D A Y. Most of the time we breathe without being aware of our breath - another one of the smart things our body does for us! By consciously tapping into to how we breathe we can release stress or anxiety and train our Nervous System to respond differently to stressors in the future.  It can give us that few extra seconds of space to mindfully respond versus reacting impulsively (freaking out and regretting it later). It can support you during a challenging yoga pose or workout to bring you to your edge and push you a little more. A regular Breathwork practice can help with:

  • About Somatic Breathwork + technique

  • Grounding meditation + Intention setting  

  • Space after to share about session 

  • 20 min follow up coaching session (1:1 only)

AND….Speedy!!  (In person 1:1 only)

This is my dog, Speedy G! I’ve always wanted to “bring my dog to work” and now I get to! As long as you’re ok with it, he’s with us before & after the session. He offers sweet, loving support and isn’t opposed to belly rubs!  It’s as if he knows exactly what you need in that moment.

What should I expect afterwards?

Often time, people experience re-connection to themselves, clarity, peace and feelings of deep purpose after a session.  Sometimes a lot of emotions come up and it can feel heavy as you are processing what came up for you.  So if you can, leave space in your day after to honor your needs and any boundaries that will continue to support you.
